The monograph by Oleg E. Volovik tells in an entertaining form the story of
incredible, unusual, in many cases tragic life that fell on the Great Duchess
of Russia, Archduchess of Austria, the spouse of Hungarian Palatine Alexandra
Pavlovna Romanova – the eldest daughter of Emperor Paul I, sister of the
Emperors Alexander I and Nicolay I. Concentration of mind-blowing events of
very old and recent days, plenty of great illustrations, unique archive
materials and documents, many of which are published in Russian for the first
time, the author’s thrilling description of so many hardly known facts of
Russian and European history unavoidably classify this book into the category
of particularly valuable and long-living publications…
